Supeyres and newbies - Snowkite Session 29

The day after the amazing Supeyres-Beal connection, we where back on our "homespot", mainly because some of us where about to try flying a kite for the first time... The Supeyres Pass is a perfect place for newbies, since a large flat part of the spot allows for a safe training ground without any risks or unwanted surprises.
So, as I went again to the antennas (this time accompanied by Baptiste), Mathilde and Celia had their first class with Rémi, from the local snowkite school.
With the hot temperatures of the last few days, we where more "grass kiting" than snowkiting, but it still was a very fun day!

Ready for class!

Supeyres to Béal - the connection!

This session was a long awaited dream! Even if the snow was quickly melting away through the day due to a sudden rise in temperatures, the wind was blowing constantly and with the right direction to finally try the connection between the Supeyres Pass and the Beal Pass, our 2 "home spots" in the Forez region of France.
It was a cool and amazing ride, even if we had some tricky passages... But we did it and everyone went home with a big smile (it was the first Supeyres-Beal connection for 4 of the 5 of us)!

Olive soulriding...

Happy to arrive at the antennas!

Font d'Urle - Snowkite Session 27

A very cool session! Light wind in the morning, but sunny and with good snow. A little foggy in the afternoon, but with stronger winds, that allowed me and Cyril to do a big tour of this great spot. Some technical passages, some jumps from natural kickers, some powder runs, a lot of going around big holes (this is definitely a spot where one must be cautious, at least the first times until one memorises all the "traps") and a great lip of fresh snow to do some "off the wall" shredding!

Supeyres - Snowkite Session 26

A perfect program for a Sunday... Sunny, windy and a lot of friends for a true freeride session in the Col des Supeyres! As soon as I arrived, I took the 12m Manta out of the bag and went following my friend Cyril all the way to the military antennas. Gilles joined us a little after and then we did a little hill gliding session before meeting up with all the others. A very cool day, indeed, even if the snow was a bit hard (my legs hurt today, especially when going down any flight of stairs). And the cherry on top of the cake, I tried my new 2012 Rossignol Angus board... A killer!
